Cotyledon- the first leaf or pair or leaves to develop in an angiosperm plant
(dicotyledon= a pair or leaves)
(monocetyledon= a single leaf)

Alternate leaf arrangement- leaves are not directly across from each other on the stem, leaves attach at singular nodes, which alternate direction

Leaflet- a single division or part of a compound leaf

Lanceolate- the end tapers to a point

Opposite leaflet arrangement- within one leaf, the 10 to 12 leaflets are opposite each other, meaning that they are arranged in pairs across from each other

Drupe- a single-seeded fruit characterized by a hard endocarp, fleshy mesocarp, and thin flexible exocarp

Dioecious- having both male and female individuals, each with unique characteristics

Panicle- a branched cluster of flowers

Perinnial- growing year after year, and flowering each year
